On the WWDC keynote, Apple announced that FaceTime will be available via the web, so now finally android and Windows users can be able to join FaceTime calls via the web. FaceTime was only available on iPhone, iPod, iPad, Mac previously.
With this new update for FaceTime, it will get more like Zoom-like call features. Apple is going to allow you to Schedule a FaceTime call and make a link for that FaceTime call, then you can send that link to the person that you want to call, so the other person can join to the call on that scheduled time.
Apple did not announce a release date for this update. Maybe the web version will launch alongside with the iOS 15 update in the fall.
Other Cool Features Apple Added To FaceTime
Apple also announced that some other cool features that FaceTime will be going to get with this update. There will be a new gird option, a voice isolation feature to improve your sound quality, spatial audio support for FaceTime, and Apple is going to add portrait mode for the FaceTime to blur your background in the calls.
