Apple will fix iPhone 11 battery drain and performance issues that have plagued some iPhone 11 devices with the new iOS 14.5 update by recalibrating their batteries. This battery recalibration process will happen if you update your iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max to the next iOS 14.5 update.
It may take a few weeks for the Battery Health System to process the remaining battery capacity and performance it can deliver. According to Apple, users will not see a difference during that process, there will be a message saying in the battery health section of the settings menu showing what is happening.
This process is already being tested in the iOS 14.5 Developer Beta Update. And now that Apple has also provided a support page for this battery recalibration process, we can expect it to make it to the final version of iOS 14.5. And if the recalibration process fails, you will get a message saying “Recalibration of the battery health reporting system was not successful. An Apple Authorized Service Provider can replace the battery free of charge to restore full performance and capacity. More about service options…”.
And if you were facing any battery issues with your iPhone 11, this battery recalibrating process will fix them when the iOS 14.5 is finally released.
