Microsoft announced their newest Office Package Office 2021 back in February. And Microsoft announced that they are releasing a preview version of Office 2021 for Mac and LTSC this week. Office LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) is designed for commercial customers and both versions are permanent versions of office, which means that they don’t rely on a subscription or the cloud.
Office 2021 will support both Apple Silicon and Intel versions of Macs; it’ll also require at least 4GB of RAM and 10GB of storage. And this office 2021 version is meant to be a stable version, but it will get monthly updates that could include some new enhanced features during this preview time. After the final version of Office 2021 is released, you will not get any more new features.
- Line Focus, which removes distractions so that you can move through a Word document line by line.
- XLOOKUP function, to help you find things in a table or range by row in an Excel worksheet.
- Dynamic array support in Excel, including new functions that make use of dynamic arrays.
- Record a slide show with narration in PowerPoint.
Office LTSC variant will also include support for dark mode, Accessibility enhancements, similar dynamic arrays, and XLOOKUP features found in Excel 2021 for Mac. And the windows version of the Office 2021 will get similar features.
