Qualcomm released its latest 7 series processor, Snapdragon 780G, which cut down features from its flagship-level Snapdragon 888 chipset, and the Snapdragon 780G chipset is way cheaper than the flagship level snapdragon 888 chipset.
Snapdragon 780G is the company’s newest 7 series chipset, replacing the 765G and 768G processors. There’s a performance boost in the new 780G chipset. The new snapdragon 780G features Qualcomm’s Kryo 670 CPU and the company says It’s 40 percent boost in performance and it also features the new Adreno 642 GPU is 50 percent faster compared to the last Adreno 640
The new Snapdragon 780G adds some new features, like the Spectra 570 triple ISP (image signal processor), like on their flagship Snapdragon 888 chip, it will give the ability to capture three simultaneous photos or video feeds at the same time.
Also, the new Snapdragon 780G will also feature the company’s sixth-generation AI engine running on a new Hexagon 770 processor, it can also perform 12 trillion operations per second (TOPS) that’s twice more than its predecessor, and it’ll also feature second-gen Sensing Hub that also features on its flagship-level Snapdragon 888 chipset.
And finally, 780G also improves its connectivity features, 780G will feature a Snapdragon X53 5G modem that capable of 3.3Gbps on Sub-6 GHz networks. Just like the Snapdragon 888 chipset 780G will also support Wi-Fi 6E. So, the new phones with this chipset will be able to use the fastest Wi-Fi speeds as well as Bluetooth 5.2.
The first phones to feature this new 780G chip will be released in the second quarter of 2021.
