Sony’s new flagship phone, the Xperia 1 IV, is a solid choice if you’re looking for a device with impressive specs for an affordable price
Let’s talk about the new Sony Xperia 1 IV.
The latest flagship phone from the well known manufacturer SONY has released their new phone on May 2022. Did the SONY made it good or worse? let’s check it out.
What’s new in Sony Xperia 1 IV
1. 5G connectivity
2. Dual front-facing cameras and dual rear cameras
3. Dual display, with a secondary screen along the top edge that displays notifications and other data with the dual flash feature.
4. Dual-core processor,
5. dual-SIM card slots (one 3G/4G LTE), and dual-band Wi-Fi.
Design and Display
The Sony Xperia 1 has a 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen is an OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which makes for great viewing angles and super sharp images on the phone’s display. Also, The glass for protection is Corning Gorilla Glass 6, so you don’t have to worry about scratches appearing on your screen when you’re using it outdoors or in bright sunlight.
Processor and RAM
The Sony Xperia 1 IV has a Snapdragon 855 processor, which is one of the fastest processors available in smartphones today. The Snapdragon 855’s eight cores can reach speeds up to 2GHz per core for a total of 16GHz. It also has an Adreno 640 graphics processing unit (GPU) with support for 4k HDR video playback and up to 120fps frame rates in games.
The Sony Xperia 1 IV also comes with 6 GB of RAM, which is plenty for most people’s needs but doesn’t quite match some other higher-end phones like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ or Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Camera
The Sony Xperia 1’s triple camera is its biggest highlight. The main camera boasts a 48-megapixel sensor that comes with an aperture of f/2.0, while the secondary sensor has 24 megapixels and the third one has 16 megapixels.
The phone can take some great photos in low light conditions, and it also records videos in 4K quality at 30 fps (frames per second).
Battery
The battery life is quite good. It comes with a 2,900mAh battery which lasts for a day with normal usage like calls and messaging, surfing the internet, and watching YouTube videos. But if you are into gaming or watching movies on Netflix then it might not last the whole day.
The phone doesn’t have a removable battery so you can’t just swap it out when it runs out of juice. However, there is no fast charging support either but it’s still fast enough to get charged from 0-100% in about an hour which isn’t too bad either considering how big the phone is.
Storage and price
The Sony Xperia 1 has 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card. The phone has a high price tag of $900.
The Sony Xperia 1 IV is a very nice smartphone for its specifications.
The camera has excellent picture quality, and the battery life lasts all day even with heavy use. The screen is large, clear, and bright enough to read in sunlight outdoors. It also has a lot of storage space so you’ll never fill up your phone quickly.
This phone’s biggest selling points are the camera and the screen, but with the performance, Samsung, Huawei and Apple can beat this easily. But this is one of the best phones to be owned because it does everything well at an affordable price that’s hard to beat!
